About MDHD STUDIO

I’m interior designer, founder of 4Square Designs, and working in New York Metro Area. I absolutely love what I do and love that I can fully express myself at work. With coffee running through my veins, I’m enthusiastically ready to write this blog as creative and inspiring as the ones I read every day. I hope you enjoy this blog as much as I love to create.

SHADES OF YELLOW

It’s no secret that yellow has long been a classic color choice for interiors. And why not? Sunny, warm, and uplifting, this color is difficult not to like, plus it works well in a wide variety of settings. The most famous yellow room of them all might just be Nancy Lancaster’s London drawing room (above), which she designed with John Fowler in the 1950s. Since then, designers have been experimenting with countless shades of the pleasing hue.

Organic Wooden Sculptures by Henrique Oliveira

Brazilian artist Henrique Oliveira’s creates organic wooden sculptures that have a movement and flow. Incredible installations look like giant overgrown tumors or roots that are slowly taking over the spaces they inhabit breaking through doors, walls, floors, and ceilings. Using a combination of reclaimed plywood fencing and PVC, Oliveira’s creations look like three dimensional wooden patchwork quilts that are taking over every nook and cranny they can, never stopping to ask for permission or directions.ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage
